Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 17, 2026
1. Introduction
Seedlore is a mobile application (the "App") developed by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
2. Data Controller
The data controller responsible for your personal data is the developer of Seedlore. For contact details, please refer to the Legal Notice (Impressum) or reach out via the contact information provided at the bottom of this policy.
3. Data Collected
Seedlore collects and stores only the data you actively provide within the App. All data is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account — nowhere else.
- Relationship start date — The date you enter when you started your relationship.
- Partner names (optional) — First names you choose to display in the App.
- Daily journal entries — Notes and text you write for specific dates.
- Photos (optional) — Images you add to your profile or journal entries.
- App preferences — Settings such as tree skin selection, notification preferences, and marriage/child information you choose to enter.
The App does not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, location data, usage analytics, or any other data beyond what you explicitly enter.
4. How Your Data Is Stored
All data is stored in two places:
- Locally on your device — Using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data remains on your iPhone and is protected by your device's passcode and encryption.
- In your private iCloud account — Using Apple's CloudKit framework. This enables syncing between your own devices and, if you choose, sharing with your partner. Your iCloud data is protected by Apple's security infrastructure and encryption standards.
Seedlore does not operate its own servers. The developer has no access to your iCloud data. All cloud storage is managed entirely by Apple under their Privacy Policy.
5. Partner Sharing
Seedlore allows you to invite one partner to share your relationship data via Apple's iCloud sharing infrastructure. When you invite a partner:
- They gain read and write access to your shared relationship profile and daily journal entries.
- Sharing is managed through Apple's CloudKit sharing system and requires the partner to have an iCloud account.
- You can revoke sharing access at any time through the App's settings.
No data is shared with anyone other than your explicitly invited partner.
6. Third-Party Services
Seedlore does not integrate any third-party services, including:
- No analytics or tracking SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Mixpanel, etc.)
- No advertising frameworks or ad networks
- No crash reporting tools beyond Apple's built-in crash logs
- No social media SDKs
The only external service used is Apple's CloudKit for data synchronization, which is a first-party Apple service tied to your personal iCloud account.
7. Notifications
If you grant notification permissions, Seedlore schedules local notifications on your device to remind you of relationship milestones (weekly, monthly, and yearly anniversaries). These notifications are processed entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
8. In-App Purchases
Seedlore offers optional in-app purchases for premium features (e.g., custom tree skins). All purchases are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store. The developer does not collect or have access to your payment information.
9. Children's Privacy
Seedlore is a relationship companion app designed for adults and is not directed at children. The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal data, please get in touch so appropriate action can be taken.
10. Your Rights
Since all your data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account, you have full control over it at all times:
- Access & Export — All your data is visible within the App at any time.
- Deletion — You can delete individual journal entries within the App. To delete all data, simply remove the App from your device. Your iCloud data can be managed through Settings > Apple ID > iCloud on your device.
- Portability — Your data is stored in your iCloud account and is accessible through Apple's data portability tools.
If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. Since no data is stored on external servers, these rights are exercised directly through your device and iCloud account.
11. Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- Apple's device-level encryption (data at rest)
- Apple's iCloud encryption (data in transit and at rest)
- Your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
The developer does not have access to your data and cannot decrypt it.
12. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
