Privacy
This policy covers the seedlore.de website and the Seedlore app. They are separate things, so they are described separately.

1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing under Art. 4(7) GDPR is:
ixl21s – Alexander Ils
c/o Online-Impressum.de #4814
Europaring 90
53757 Sankt Augustin
Germany
Email: seedlore@ixl21s.com
Full details in the legal notice.
Short version: This website sets no cookies, embeds nothing from third parties and stores no IP addresses. The app has no backend — your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, which the developer cannot access.
2. The seedlore.de website
2.1 Hosting
The website runs on a virtual server operated by netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany, in a German data centre. netcup GmbH acts as a processor under a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. No transfer to third countries takes place.
2.2 Server log files
When you open the site, technical access data is written to a log file: date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, the HTTP status code, the referring page and the browser identifier.
IP addresses are not stored. They are truncated before being written to the log: for IPv4 the last octet is zeroed (192.0.2.37 becomes 192.0.2.0), for IPv6 only the first two blocks are kept (2a00:11c0:5f:4bc7:… becomes 2a00:11c0::). No individual person can be identified from that. Logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is the secure technical operation of the site and troubleshooting.
2.3 No cookies, no tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no localStorage or comparable storage for analytics. No analytics, statistics or advertising services are embedded. That is also why there is no consent banner — there is nothing to consent to.
The site can be saved to your home screen as a web app; the service worker used for that stores only the page you last visited, locally in your browser, so it can still be displayed offline. That data never leaves your device.
2.4 Fonts
The fonts used (Inter, Playfair Display) are served from this server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external provider, so your IP address is not passed to any third party.
2.5 Encryption
The connection is encrypted end to end with TLS (HTTPS). Requests over plain HTTP are redirected to HTTPS automatically.
2.6 External links
The site links to the App Store, to X and to byectrlclick.com. These are plain links — no content from those providers is embedded and no data is sent to them when you open this site. Their own privacy terms apply only once you click a link.
2.7 Getting in touch
There is no contact form on this site. If you email us, we use your details solely to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries. Messages are deleted once the matter is closed and no retention obligations apply.
3. The Seedlore app
3.1 What the app processes
The app stores only what you enter yourself:
- Relationship start date — the date you enter
- Partner names — optional, your choice
- Journal entries — notes and text for individual days
- Photos — optional, for your profile and journal entries
- Preferences — tree skin, notifications, marriage and children details you choose to enter
The app collects no device identifiers, no IP addresses, no location data and no usage analytics. Apple's App Store privacy label accordingly reads “No data collected”.
3.2 Where the data lives
In two places, both of which are yours:
- On your device via Apple's SwiftData, protected by your device passcode and device encryption.
- In your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. This enables syncing between your devices and, if you want it, sharing with your partner.
Seedlore operates no servers of its own. The developer has no access to your iCloud data and cannot read it. Storage happens inside your own iCloud account, under your own relationship with Apple; Apple's privacy policy applies to it.
3.3 Sharing with your partner
You can invite one person to share your relationship profile and journal entries. This runs entirely through Apple's iCloud sharing. The invited person gets read and write access to the shared content and needs an iCloud account of their own. Access can be revoked at any time in the app settings. No data is shared with anyone other than the person you invite.
3.4 Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules local reminders for anniversaries and milestones directly on your device. No push messages are sent through a server and no data is transmitted for them.
3.5 In-app purchase
Seedlore Premium is a one-time in-app purchase handled exclusively through the App Store. Apple is your contracting party for the purchase; the developer never receives or stores payment details.
3.6 No third-party services
The app embeds no analytics SDKs, no ad networks, no social media SDKs and no third-party crash reporting. The only external service used is Apple's CloudKit, a first-party Apple service tied to your personal iCloud account.
3.7 No AI features
Seedlore contains no AI features. No content is sent to language models or other AI services — neither to external providers nor for on-device processing.
3.8 Children
Seedlore is made for adults and does not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has entered personal data, please contact the address above.
4. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21).
For the app you can exercise these rights directly, because none of the data sits with us:
- Access and export — all content is visible in the app at any time and reachable through Apple's data portability tools.
- Erasure — delete individual entries in the app; to remove everything, delete the app from your device and manage the iCloud data under Settings → your name → iCloud.
For anything concerning the website or email correspondence, a message to seedlore@ixl21s.com is enough.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) — the authority of your place of residence, your workplace or the place of the suspected infringement. A list of the German authorities is available from the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
5. Changes to this policy
This policy is updated whenever something relevant to data protection changes in the website or the app. The date above shows the current version.
